What Is The Difference Between the Pusher Type & The Standard Steel Tensioners?

Pusher type tensioners work in exactly the same way as standard tensioners, the only difference is that pusher type tensioners require closed seals, (LapOver Seals) whereas standard tensioners use open seals.

When using a pusher type tensioner, a LapOver seal is placed on the metal banding before it has been tensioned. In comparison, when using a standard steel tensioner, an open seal is placed on the band after it has been tensioned.

Operating Instructions

When using this SureFast Pusher Type Tensioner Tool, feed both ends of the strap through the seal to form a closed system around the application. Next, insert the overlapping band into the side of the tool.

The handle of the tool is then used to tension the steel banding. Once the desired tension has been reached, a sealer is used to crimp the seal. After the system has been secured by a crimped seal, the tensioner is removed and the excess band is cut away with a steel cutter.

Please note that the seal and the sealer have to be the same size for the whole system to work. For example, if the steel banding is 13mm wide, then a 13mm seal and 13mm sealer should be used for the best results.
