Inconel 625 banding is an alloy metal made from nickel, chromium, and molybdenum. A popular choice within saltwater applications, it has an excellent resistance to rust and oxidation, particularly at high temperatures. In alkaline, salt and fresh water, neutral salts, and also in the air, almost no attack occurs, showing the excellent resistance to oxidising environments from this reliable 625 material. Inconel is especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion, which is prevented by the molybdenum within.
Inconel 625 alloy, also known as n06625, has an outstanding corrosion resistance in a large variety of severely corrosive environments, and excellent fatigue strength due to its high alloy content.
This non-magnetic, nickel-based alloy is typically used in applications such as heat shields, furnace hardware, chemical plant hardware and special sea water applications such as oil and gas pipelines, cables and umbilical strapping.
Offshore, piggyback pipe laying, subsea identification, pile protection, VIV strakes, aerospace, chemical processing, nuclear, riser and umbilical protection.
Inconel 625 banding is most commonly secured with buckles made from the same high-grade alloy 625 metal. Inconel buckles allow the band to be securely fastened to the application while also providing excellent resistance to unfavourable environments. This means that the entire banding system will be strong enough to last a very long time.
All sizes of Inconel 625 band will accept a buckle, provided that the right size of buckle is chosen for this alloy 625 band, our Inconel buckles are available in 16mm. These buckles are then easily fitted and engaged with a tension tool.
